Hello KY!
To me, culture has always been the most important thing at KY. Thus, the job as a Culture Producer was a natural choice for me. The things I have found myself loving from the job are that every day is a new adventure: the work assignments vary from “boring” billing and emails to organizing the biggest events at KY!
Since the work tasks as the Culture Producer are so diverse, in this blog, I try to shed some light on how my year has been and what I have done. Buckle up, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!
1. Monitoring culture’s budget
As the Culture Producer is responsible for many of KY’s biggest events, such as the Annual Ball, a lot of money goes through their pedantic eyes. Additionally, this includes making and paying invoices as well as taking part in budgeting for the next year.
2. Vice-chairing Cultural Committee KUVA
One of the best parts of the job is getting to be part of KUVA! Culture Producer acts as a secretary at the meetings, helps the chair with leading the committee, takes part in the operational activities, and participates in the fun committee pastime activities. ;)
3. Acting as a service advisor
Culture Producer gets to be a part of the delightful service advisor trio (also known as PaNe). As a service advisor, you get to sell some KY merch, help members, and even distribute KY stickers!
4. Kuntis organizing
Traditional Kuntis parties (Kuntaillat) are solely the responsibility of the Culture Producer. This includes contacting bars, coordinating with performers, and making sure that everything works smoothly.
These are only some of the tasks I have been doing during my year. The year has taught me enormously on handling stressful situations, communications with stakeholders as well as handling big projects.
Most importantly, I have met wonderful people and had the time of my life. It is hard for me to choose the best memory I have of the year, but in advance, I think it will be Wappu…
