KY community wouldn't be anywhere without its volunteers. To show continuous recognition to this valuable work, we reward our hard-working volunteers with KY's acknowledgements each year at Honor's Night and KY's Annual Ball.
The points for community badge and activity badge are calculated according to partaken activities and held positions in the following manner:
- tutors
- active members of sub-committees
- the editorial staff of Kylteri
- board members of subject clubs
- active club members
- project teams
- KY Office
- student board members and Chair of KY Foundation
- active members of the Representative Council
- the chair of Kylterirengas
- sub-committee boards
- committee members
- Probba board
- the chairs of project teams, subject clubs and clubs
The community badge is granted to a current member of the association who has held positions of responsibility at KY or KY associations during their studies. It is awarded purely by collected points. The community badge is awarded annually to a maximum of 100 people, who have not yet been awarded with the badge and have collected the largest total amount of points.
The activity badge is granted to a current member of the association who has been active at KY or KY associations during their studies. It is awarded purely by collected points. If you receive an activity badge after receiving the community badge, it will replace the latter. The activity badge is awarded annually to a maximum of 35 people, who have not yet been awarded with the badge and have collected the largest total amount of points.
The badge of dedication is granted by the KY Board to a current or former member of the association who has held multiple positions of large responsibility at KY or KY associations during their studies over multiple years.
Badge of dedication is granted to people who already hold an activity badge and have shown excellent quality of work during their activities.
Badge of merit is granted by the Representative Council to a current or former member of the association who has held positions of large responsibility at KY or KY associations.
Badge of merit is granted to people who have shown excellent quality of work for a fairly long time.
Badge of honour is granted by the Representative Council after consulting the KY Honorary Delegation. Badge of honour is granted to KY’s honorary members, but can also be granted as a special acknowledgement for current or former members of the associations who have shown tremendous and long-term work in favour of the association after receiving the badge of merit.
Bronze shield awards active communities with yearly alternating criteria. The recipient of the Bronze Shield has worked exceptionally for the community. The shield will remain in KY’s possession.
