Why did I apply?
There’s no simple answer to that. I felt like I had more to give to the community. After years of volunteering, maybe it was time to get paid a little doing it. 😉
As I reflect on the past year, it’s hard to single out one highlight. Maybe it was seeing the real impact of ideas that started as random conversations on the Espilä sofa. Maybe it was the morning schools planning random checkpoint crawls :D Or maybe it was the representations with the board. I believe it was a mix of all those things. The unpredictability of each day kept me excited and motivated throughout the year. 🧌
I’m proud of how we supported our volunteers and associations through some initially tricky challenges. We also launched “KY Talks” for the first time in March, which was a big success. Our collaboration with the School was strong, as seen in the Alumnifest event in August. And I can't forget the amazing Master’s Committee, which I had the privilege to lead <3. Master’s Night will always be a special memory from this year. 🍄
Of course, there were some areas that could have gone smoother, like communicating with external stakeholders or managing the committee budget (:D) But in the end, everything worked out just fine.
To anyone considering applying, I have just one word for you: Do it.
Live long and prosper!
