3. Audio & lights

Regular lights

  • Saha has a centrally controlled lighting system with touch-screen control panels on the walls (see images below)
  • The control panels have four lighting presets plus an off-setting
  • The control panel in the main hall also switches the setting for the backstage area, but the control panel in the backstage area controls the backstage separately
  • Turn off all the lights at the end of your reservation

WiFi and mini PC

  • Saha has a WiFi system that can be used to stream audio or video from your device to Saha's systems or for internet access. Please note that the capacity of the WiFi is limited so use it only for necessary devices to maintain good performance.
    • WiFi name: KY Saha
    • WiFi password: SAHAsana
  • The streaming works via Chromecast. You will get the best streaming performance using Chrome browser, Google Home app or other compatible apps. You can find more instructions online.
  • There is a mini PC at the speaker's booth. There is power button on the PC to turn it on. The PC is connected to the display, keyboard and mouse at the booth. You can use the PC to play audio, video or presentation for example. Refer to Audio or Projectors sections below for more instructions. Turn the PC off at the end of your reservation

Audio

  • Saha has a stationary PA-system connected to a mixer in the corner of the stage.
  • The mixer's power switch is in the back of the mixer on the right side
  • Letting sound through to the speakers:
    • On the touchscreen speaker control panel: make sure that the speakers you want to use are not muted. Here you can also control volume between different zones
    • On the mixer: make sure the volume slider has been moved up for the device you want to hear (e.g. the microphone volume sliders) and make sure that the channel you want to hear or main channel is not muted (ORANGE LIGHT = sound is on)
    • Move the MAIN MIX volume sliders up on the mixer (red slider on the right side)
  • Using microphones:
    • KY's mics should already be connected, but if not or you're using other mics, connect microphone receivers to the mixer with an XLR cable using the connectors at the top row of the mixer (see first image below)
    • Turn on the microphone you want to use. The Sennheiser microphone has a small red power button at the end/bottom and the Shure microphone has power button on the side. Remember to bring your own AA batteries for the mics. You can change batteries for both mics by twisting the base of the mic.
    • Move their respective volume sliders up (like in first image below) and refer to the Letting sound through to the speakers -section above
  • Playing sound from your device or the stage mini PC:
    • You can use the mixers AUX cable on top of the tech cabinet to play sound or you can stream audio to Saha's Chromecast. Note that you need to connect to KY Saha WiFi to make the streaming work
    • There is no fixed connection between the stage mini PC and the mixer, so you need to use one of the above methods
    • Move AUX or Chromecast slider up and refer to the Letting sound through to the speakers -section above
  • Playing sound from DJ corner:
    • There is XLR audio inputs at the DJ corner. Please note that these connections go directly to the speaker system and not to the mixer, so it is recommended to use separate mixer here. However, the touchscreen speaker control panel at the stage can be used to control volumes.
  • After your reservation:
    • Move all volume sliders down to zero
    • Turn off the mixer from the switch in the back of the mixer (third image below)

Party lights

  • Saha has a stationary DMX-controlled party light system
  • The controller for these lights is the ChamSys QuickQ 20 console at the speaker's booth
  • Turn on the lights by sliding the Grand Master slide on the right side of the console. You can select lightning presets from the small white box at the speaker's booth or at the DJ corner. You can find more lightning options from the console, but there is quite steep learning curve. Google and Youtube can be helpful for finding tutorials.
  • Turn off all the party lights at the end of your reservation by sliding the Grand Master down

Projectors

  • Saha has two stationary projectors in the main area, one facing the stage and another facing wall next to the door leading to the cloakroom
  • The projectors can be turned on or off using the remote control
  • You can control video outputs (the 2 projectors) and inputs from the tech cabinet control panel following the instruction label. There are following inputs available:
