3. Audio & lights

Audio and microphones

  • BMK has a stationary PA system connected to a mixer at the DJ table
  • Do not touch speakers, cables, or anything beyond the mixer, everything should be ready
  • Make sure that the power is on for everything you plan to use
    1. Main power: The switch is in the column behind the stage (first image below)
    2. Mixer power: Switch is in the backside of the mixer (second image below)
      • Next to the mixer's power switch is a similar switch for the phantom power, but that does not have to be switched on for the mixer to work
  • Using microphones:
    • Make sure that the main power is on. The switch is in the column behind the stage.
    • Make sure that the mixer power is on. The switch is in the backside of the mixer.
    • By default, there are two microphones. The mic receivers are located under the DJ table. They should be on after turning on the main power.
    • The microphones have chargeable batteries. The charger is built into the microphone receivers located below the DJ table.
    • The volume of these microphones is controlled using the volume sliders on the mixer at the speaker’s booth (labels “Mic 1” and “Mic 2”).
    • If you're using other mics, connect microphone receivers to the mixer with an XLR cable using the connectors at the top row of the mixer.

Party lights

  • BMK has a fixed DMX-controlled party light system
  • There are 2 controllers (light tables). A separate one for the hallway/bar area and another for the stage.
  • Hallway lights:
    • To use the lights in the hallway/bar area press the ON/OFF button on the light controller (photo).
    • Use the color switch to change the color of the different light combinations.
    • Use the brightness slider to control the brightness of the different light combos or to turn them off completely.
  • Stage area lights:
    • The light table turns on automatically after turning on the main power.
    • Make sure that the “GRAND MASTER” slider is moved up.
    • On the middle of the light table press the black button with the label “CUE” underneath.
    • Use the 20 different sliders on the left-hand side of the light table to use the light presets.

Projectors

  • BMK has a stationary projector in the main area, facing the stage.
  • The remote for the projector is on the DJ table. Use this remote to turn on the projector.
  • Connect your device to the HDMI port located in front of the DJ table using a HDMI cable.
  • If this does not work, make sure that the “source” for the projector is HDBaseT.
  • The projector screen behind the stage is controlled (up/down) with buttons located on the column 2 meters above the main power switch. Do not climb there, it was very difficult and it hurt to fall from there, believe me.
