A week full of traditions, glamour and KY spirit

The most festive week of the late winter and early Spring is finally here: KY Week in all its glory! This is the week which gathers every KY member and association to take part in the festivities and to celebrate together. You are all invited to come along!

But what is KY Week all about this year? On Monday the 20th, all your questions about the good habits during the special occasions will be answered, when KY organizes an Etiquette and Dance course at Yläkertsi starting at 5.30PM. After the etiquette part, the dance course will follow at Alakertsi led by the lovely ladies of KYppendales. This event is free of charge and needs no special registration!

On Thursday the 23rd, NESU-KY will organize the traditional Annual Ball sits party in the atmospheric Agroksenmäen Holvikellari. The classiest sits party of the year includes a three course meal, great entertainment and of course a good company. After the sits party, KY Kuntis and Reino Nordin will take the party to the next level in Apollo Live Club. KY Kuntis is open for everyone who wants to celebrate KY’s 106th birthday party so in order not to miss an epic night, remember to get your tickets quickly! For the party animals, the cultural subcommittee KUJ will host the official KY Kuntis Afterparty at Alakertsi from 3AM onwards.

This year we have also got something special for you: KY’s very own whiskey club WhisKY wants to honour KY’s 106th anniversary by arranging an unique tasting on Friday the 24th. KY106 tasting starts at 7PM at Yläkertsi and the ticket for the event costs 20 euros. This occasion is definitely something new for the selection of KY Week’s events!

The week culminates on Saturday the 25th, when it’s time to celebrate KY’s 106th Annual Ball in prestigious Wanha Satama at Katajanokka. The spectacular evening consist of a high-class dinner and an amazing programme including speeches, performances and Boston Promenade, which will make the ball unforgettable. After the ball the party will continue with KUJ at KY Building until dawn. Eventually, the festive week would not be complete without the legendary SILLIS??!!?! organized by KUJ as well – so get yourself a funky hat and explore this mysterious event!

KY’s 106 years are a significant milestone and definitely something to be celebrated – together. I welcome all of you to attend the festivities and hope to see you all at the events!

Let’s raise a toast to KY and have a great KY Week!
