Knowing the right people
Hi everyone! I’m Joel Kulikoff, a second year Business Technology student. This year I will be the one in KY board responsible for the academic affairs and campus matters.
During the autumn I had plenty to do besides my studies. The corporate relations of NESU-KY had kept me busy all year long not to forget the upcoming KY-Speksi project. In February you can finally see what we have been working on with Speksi!
When the application period started I wasn’t sure yet whether to apply for the board or not. Luckily I had some awesome KY people helping me out through the application process. The game changer for me was eventually the people I talked with and my will being part of making our student community a better place for us all. For me, the community is built from inside and that’s why I want to have the focus on the very core of KY – our members.
Even though I didn’t know much about the academic affairs before, it was clear to me that this was the thing I wanted to work with during my year at the board. After speaking with Juho, the kopo before me, I also found out that this was the sector where I could give back to KY the most. I expect that the upcoming year will bring a bunch of meetings, both the formal and the more unofficial ones, and a plenty of things to learn.
My job is quite much about sitting around the tables where the decisions concerning us all are made. More importantly, I’ll be able to have an impact on the decisions both directly and through the school faculty. So knowing the right people will be important for me this year. If you have anything on your mind related to studies, do not hesitate to contact me or Kalle!
I’m excited to tell you that I also take part in planning a new building for Aalto School of Business. As I’m responsible for the campus matters, I’m eager to help if there’s anything we could do to make the facilities better. See you at Espilä!
