From the board: Educational affairs
Hi! My name Katariina and I’m in charge of educational affairs and international weeks. I’m studying marketing and officially this is my second year, but I have studied one year in open university. As a mursu I was really enthusiastic to do things in KY. I was a board member of NESU-KY, responsible for communications. Last autumn I was a tutor and currently I’m also in the Annual Ball Committee.
The enthusiasm I had as a mursu has just grown: last year was one of the best years of my life. I want to have that feeling again this year, so I decided to apply for the board when I was in Iceland with other marketing students in November. I didn’t get any sleep that night, because I was so excited and nervous at the same time. I haven’t regretted that decision for a second.
I just got back to Finland after travelling for three weeks in Hong Kong and Thailand and I’m more than ready for new challenges! I have a lot to learn because I don’t have much previous experience in educational affairs. I believe that my passion and desire to learn are more important than the previous experience: I hope that after a year I’m an expert when it comes to educational affairs.
This year I will be working especially with Juho and as he mentioned in his blog post, one of our main goals is to deepen the collaboration with the school. To help us do that, I hope you come to talk with us. If you have something on your mind (and even if you didn’t), don’t hesitate to contact us. See you!
