Esa-Pekka Mattila is the new Secretary General
The KY representative council decided to name Esa-Pekka Mattila as the new Secretary General for the term 2017-2019. Mattila will begin his work in August.
Mattila, master’s student of Business Law, has previously worked as a paralympic level athlete and a freelance photographer. At KY he has a diverse background with experience for example from a committee, a club, a project team and the Kylteri magazine.
The representative council was pleased with Mattila’s strong experience in volunteer activities at KY. Especially Mattila’s views on KY’s role in members’ everyday life and his enthusiasm towards this community. “Mattila has excellent social skills, which will give a solid basis for further positive atmosphere development both in the office and also widely in the community” says Juho Paavola, the Chairman of the representative council.
The Secretary General has a significant role not only in leading and developing the KY activities but also ensuring the continuity of these activities. The Secretary General works as a manager of KY’s employees and participates in advocacy work, participating in the student center project and financial administration of the association. He will also work as a secretary for the representative council.
